Lab Mission
As a research team, our mission is to use rigorous scientific methods to better understand the nature of mental health problems and related difficulties and to research ways to improve well-being and reduce suffering. We aim to have a positive, safe, and supportive team and work together with the shared values of compassion and scientific curiosity.
Tim Ritzert, Ph.D., Lab Director

I am interested in the nature and treatment of anxiety and related difficulties, with a focus on using approaches grounded in contextual behavioral science to improve well-being.
I am also passionate about teaching. I enjoy teaching courses such as Introduction to Psychology and Abnormal Psychology. I use a team-based learning approach that is designed to cultivate active learning and help students learn to think critically and learn how to think like a psychologist.
I received my B.A. from Kent State University and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University at Albany, SUNY. I am an avid Cleveland sports fan, a Trekkie, and I enjoy long-distance running, reading, and traveling.
